Threats
One of the problems with deciding to become more involved in world events, and indeed more involved with the Alliance, is that it means having to constantly brush up with people you'd otherwise put two oceans and an entire continent between yourself and them. Case in point:
Mathias Shaw, Leader of the S:I7 and Flynn Fairwind, Captain of the Middenwake.
Even with the war’s sudden end, Alia Chess still found a kind of employment under the Lord Admiral Proudmoore, and every morning, Alia would come to Boralus to the docked galleon that served as a base of operations to discuss business with Lady Proudmoore, and clock-work Shaw would be there, leaning against the mast next to important maps and reports. He usually would greet her with a grin like he was the cat with the cream, and almost always was ready to throw out some half thought-out remark to illustrate how “refined” and “suave” he was. One time of note happened when Alia was looking for a misplaced map, and glanced over to the far table, only to catch the spymaster’s gaze. Not wanting trouble, she hurried over to get her things, and was rewarded with, “I thought I saw you glance in my direction.”
Shaw, while his comments were inappropriate and obviously suggestive, was at least subtle about it; Fairwind was far worse. The captain was the definition of a scoundrel, only helping the Alliance achieve their goals as long as he’s paid and provided a steady stream of women and ale. "Easy sailor! I know I'm easy on the eyes, but buy me a drink first!" and “Carry’n that bag around all day, with all the important information. You deserve an ale, maybe even a backrub.” that. Alia never liked to use fire magic, having difficulty mastering the craft notwithstanding, but listening to the two of them talk was so grating to the ears that she wanted to lock them in the brig and burn the whole ship down. The only reason they did it was to get on Jon's nerves - they behaved themselves well enough around the others, but as soon as it was time for them to work, all pretenses were thrown out and into the water.

What they failed to realize was that while angering a Gilnean rouge is trouble, infuriating his Dalaran-trained wife was suicide.
One fateful morning, at the changing of the guard, the Magna made her presence known.
Marching up to Shaw with a pointed finger and steady breath, Alia yelled loud enough for the whole of Fairwinds Market - no - the whole of Boralus Harbor to hear. "Light damn you, Mathias Shaw! Say anything more than what is required for our work today, and you will find yourself at the bottom of the Great Sea with nothing but the cold and crushing depths to comfort you in your final moments...assuming Jon leaves anything left of you once I tell him about your ‘joking around’.”
Flynn had the unfortunate luck to step onboard right as she finished. Shaw, for his part, tried to shoo him away, but only succeeded in tipping off Alia to her next target. With a fury, Alia spun on her heel and verbally assaulted Flynn to the very edge of the ship, just short of pushing him off, "And that goes double for you, Fairwind! I know you’ve been staring at places you shouldn't, not to mention you reaching for my bag. The only thing you’ll find in there is permanent ink stains and broken quills. Next time I catch you even so much as looking in my general direction, I'll tie your feet to an anchor and portal you into the heart of Blackrock Mountain! Am I understood?"
The two nodded quickly, and Alia, quick as a cat, shoved Flynn off the side of the ship before she left, quickly as she came, down the scaffolding and storming off into the portal room with the fury of a Val'kyr. The entire deck she left behind was speechless, no one more so than Lord Admiral Proudmoore and Halford Wyrmbane, leader of the 7th Legion, who had been standing there the entire time with an absolute flabbergasted expression written all over their faces. “Do either one of you want to tell me what that was all about?” Halford asked. Shaw shook his head and departed, having been properly reprimanded and thoroughly embarrassed. Besides, he had to go rescue Flynn or he'd never hear the end of it.
