Tarot Deck I - The Lovers

A tarot deck is an unusual item. Some are mere replica’s that belong to fortune tellers and con men, some provide a seeker with genuine answers. Either way, there is something about them that makes people… uncomfortable. It is said that the strongest decks are ones made by the one who plans to use it, designing each card based on what they believe best represents each archetype. The cards can be difficult, unruly.

Their answers may be unclear, or seem like they have no bearing on the question asked of them. But the answers they give always become clear in time.

Within the deck, the position of the card plays into the meaning just as much as its placement within the deck. As the seventh card within the Major Arcana of the tarot deck, the Lovers focuses on relationships, not just of a romantic or sexual kind, but any relationship that is meaningful. The decisions and sacrifices involving the balance of existing relationships, the temptations of the heart, or the choice of potential partners; all of these are within the prevue of the Lovers.

While upright, the Lovers represent love, union, relationships, values alignment, choices, trust, aspirations, harmony, and inner examination. When reversed, the Lovers tell of disharmony, imbalance, and misalignment of values within the relationship of question.
