Last Time on Emberheart Z: War, War Never Changes
🔥Last time on Emberheart Z!🔥
The War Council.
The grief was deep. The tempers were hot. Suspicion and paranoia laced every word. Emberheart had been dealt a serious blow: Dorant in a coma, Vaer Ming released, potential betrayal from the Horde Council, even from within the Expedition's own ranks. Though things got heated at times, several key facts were discussed and settled throughout the evening.
For now, the Enclave is secure once more. The wards preventing teleportation have been reinforced, and the guard portals have been increased and expanded to include air and sea now. Loyalties were reaffirmed for new and old members alike.
Lyanna Ravenwing, known to the Expedition more by her nickname of Raven, returned from her fact-finding reconnaissance with a story to tell regarding the false envoy Drakosh Mok'thar. She revealed a number of dark tidings, including that the true envoy had been discovered dead two weeks before the vault tour took place, his throat slit and his badges of office stripped from the corpse. As to why the news had taken so long to reach them, the answer came back to the Twilight’s Blade once again. The cult had infiltrated Orgrimmar, growing to a substantial presence within the city to the point where they were able to create sufficient interference with law enforcement efforts. By the time anything could be put together, the damage was done.
As for the corpse now missing a head and spine, thanks to the efforts of Dorant and Kiri back in the Vault, Drakosh Mok'thar was a Centurion in the Horde Army who turned his back on his people in favor of the original Twilight's Hammer cult back in the day, when the Cataclysm tore the world asunder. The tragedy further compounded when his wife and child were swallowed whole by the Great Divide which split the Barrens in half. A sad tale indeed, but if empathy was to be found for the dead orc, it was not going to be within the hearts of the Expedition at this time.
The war council moved on to the greater topic of Vaer Ming. Legend of the past or Monster of the Void? While the motives of the cult in releasing the Spirit-Binder are still unknown, what was agreed upon was that the Urn and Dorant were the primary targets of the attack. Secondly, the Emberheart members who were present during the initial encounter, mainly Merada, Kiri, and Ioneid, may be under threat for further attacks as the Mogu Witch seeks her vengeance for her prior defeat. Thirdly, that research will need to be conducted in order to determine how she can be returned to her imprisonment... or, barring that, permanently killed. With the promise of the gathered scholarly types such as Journa, Ralthis, and Agradar to pursue the matter immediately, the topic moved on to the final matter.
Who would lead the Expedition in place of Dorant? Temporarily, of course. Organizing the effort, coordinating with allies for supplies and information, commanding the respect of all to make the hard calls: these would require a central figurehead. A few names were thrown into the ring, but ultimately it was put to a vote. A few abstained, feeling that their recent membership disqualified them from making such a serious decision, but just as many voted. Though momentarily close, in a landside victory that surprised none but the man himself, Elder Bazrokh Firestep was pulled into service once more as General and de facto Director of Emberheart Expeditions. Kozar was subsequently named the Envoy of Emberheart, so that communication would never suffer again.
With his new title, Bazrokh wasted no time in issuing the call to arms. The Twilight's Blade has begun to move north from the Highlands through the Hinterlands, their destination Quel'thelas. The home of the Sin'dorei will soon be under assault, and the Expedition will be there to exact bloody vengeance.
For Dorant! For the Expedition!
